Opto Wobble · two 555s and an LFO · One of a kind
5 Finks
My Opto Wobble, boxed. Two 555s that play each other through an LED and a photocell, and an LFO on the same board that wobbles one of them or the other, picked with a toggle. Five knobs, a CV jack on the face, in a sparkly pink 125B with the name lettered down the side.

What it does
The Opto Wobble is two of my layouts on one board: the Opto Duet, a pair of 555s wired through an LED and a photocell so one oscillator's output becomes the other's timing resistor, and the Dual-Wave LFO. The LFO goes through a toggle onto pin 5 of either 555, so it bends one voice or the other, and a CV jack lets something outside do the bending instead.
The fifth knob is the starve. It sits in the supply and takes the voltage down, and the board gets glitchy in a way I like.
The layout is free on this site and it is built as drawn, so you can see exactly what is in the box before you buy it.
One of a kind. When it is gone it is gone.

Controls
- Five knobs
- The Opto Wobble's five: tempo and pitch for the duet, rate and blend for the LFO, and a starve knob that takes the supply down and makes the whole thing glitch. I am not going to say which knob is which on the face; turn them and you will hear it.
- The wobble toggle
- Sends the LFO to one 555 or the other, or nowhere in the middle.
- CV
- A jack on the face into the first 555, so something else can do the wobbling.
