What it does

A fixed wah is a wah pedal with the rocking part removed. Instead of sweeping the filter with your foot you set it once with the knob, and everything you play comes through that same resonant peak. It is the cocked-wah sound: nasal, mid-forward and impossible to ignore, the thing people reach for when a lead needs to cut without getting louder.

One knob is the whole interface, which is the point. There is no volume control and no mix, so what you hear is the filter and nothing else, and the numbered skirt on the dial means a setting you liked is a number you can write down.

Sits well in front of a fuzz or a driven amp, where the peak gives the distortion one frequency to chew on.
