DIY Kits

Everything you need to build one of my guides, in a box. I pick the parts, check them and print the instruction sheet, so you are not cross-referencing a parts list against six supplier tabs before you can start. Pick the build you want when you order.

Every part in a kit is brand new. That is worth saying plainly here, because most of what I sell is secondhand gear I have taken apart and bent. Kits are the opposite: new components, new board, nothing salvaged.

What is in every kit

  • A board to build on, in whichever format you pick below
  • A power module, a battery and a battery connector
  • Jumper wires
  • Every component that build calls for
  • A printed instruction sheet for that build

You supply a soldering iron for the two soldered formats, and something to hear it through where the build ends at a jack rather than a speaker. The guide for each build says which it is.

Pick a format

Two things worth knowing before you pick

The Super Simple Oscillator wants more voltage than the rest. It runs on 12V to 18V, not 9V, because the transistor has to avalanche before it makes a sound. Its kit comes with a supply that reaches it. Every other build on this page is happy on 9V.

I only sell kits for builds I have made work. There are more guides on the DIY page than there are kits here, and the difference is the ones still wearing an Unverified badge: drawn and checked, never built. I am not charging anybody for a bag of parts and a drawing. They get added as I build them.

Kits are not shipping quite yet. I am waiting on the battery connectors to arrive before I can assemble them, and the photos on this page are the real ones once the first kits are boxed. Email me if you want to be told the day they go up, or if you want a kit for a build that is not listed.
